I previously directed a training program for navy recruits in Iran, taught individual and group English classes in Japan, and taught English in Korea as a Peace Corps Volunteer.

I have often helped my friends with their writing skills--with everything from grammar, to sentence structure, to how to make a paper really pop. On my AP English Language test, I scored a 3, which was enough for me to receive college credit. On my ACT scores, my English score was the highest of all of them (29), and that allowed me to skip both English 101 and 102 in college. I know how to write structured essays, as well as stories. In a Creative Writing course I took in my first semester in college, I got an A.

I've also taught a few friends how to read music, and my life is very ground in music. I have played piano for six and a half years, sung alto since the fourth grade, once helped lead worship at my old church for about a year, and I compose music in my spare time. Overall, I have a relatively well-grounded knowledge in piano, voice, composition, and basic music theory.

Besides that, I've taught myself how to be very organized and spread my time out so that I don't have to cram in time for projects and tests. I believe learning time management is a very important thing, and something I would try to pass on to anyone I tutor.

I want to be a tutor because one of my concentrations in Theatre that I am studying is Drama Education, and the more opportunities I can get to help and teach students, the better off I will be. I believe that I am very good at explaining hard concepts, and making learning a relatively worry-free activity. I have an easygoing personality, I love cracking jokes, and I love helping people!

Hobbies:

I have always been a complete Theatre dork! In the theatre, I have acted, written, and worked with the technical aspects of shows. I love to sing harmonies to anything, play piano, draw realistic portraits, paint, dance, compose, cook, and write.
