Private tutor in Albuquerque, NM
University of Washington - BA, BA, Music, Theater , California Institute of the Arts - MFA, Costume Design
I completed my education at the University of Washington and the California Institute of the Arts. I became a professional educator upon graduation. For over ten years, I have taught and tutored students. I've worked with a variety of pupils from tutoring public and private students to college athletes. My tutoring range is equally diverse. My strongest subjects are English, social studies, world history, European history, American history, writing, and reading. I also help clients prepare for standardized and subject tests such as SAT writing, SAT verbal, ACT English, and AP subjects. Besides teaching academic subjects, I have a lot of experience in designing clothes and costumes. I'm adept at teaching classes to both children and adults. When teaching a subject, I make use of the art of storytelling to bring subjects like history alive. Sharing interesting tips and information makes the subject more appealing to my pupils. I have a unique teaching style which uses positive reinforcement, praise, and humor to help bolster the academics. Students find me passionate, knowledgeable, and a great communicator. Outside the field of education, I enjoy a varied group of interests. I love writing children's stories, making jewelry, photography, dogs, reading, designing costumes, and studying history.
