Coming from an economically disadvantaged background, I know how important a good education can be. Like I did, some students may spend an hour-long bus ride, in suboptimal conditions, to get to school every day. However, I had teachers and mentors who believed in me and, through education, gave me a chance to rise above my socioeconomic barriers. Because of this, I was able to go to a university and pursue my dreams.I attended the University of New Mexico, where I received a bachelor's degree in Biology. I am now in the process of furthering my studies while pursuing a career in nursing. While completing higher education can be difficult, it allows one to develop a passion for learning while building the confidence to overcome problems throughout life. These are the skills I am eager to pass down to a new generation of students. As a tutor, I believe it is important to put the needs of my students before my own. Because of this, I carefully take the time and effort to personalize each lesson to better suit the student's learning style, such as auditory, visual, and kinesthetic learning.Not only do I have a background in physiology, biology, and mathematics, but I am also fluent in Spanish.
