I currently work as an educational researcher, but in the past worked as an ESL teacher and an urban planner. I have also been a test prep instructor for the GMAT and GRE for the University of New Mexico and privately. I have a bachelor's degree from Antioch College in Latin America: Language, Literature and Culture, and I have master's degrees in Community and Regional Planning and Latin American Studies from the University of New Mexico. I feel rewarded by watching students gain new knowledge and the confidence to reach their goals, whether it is for their education or career. I can help students who need a tune-up of their knowledge, or students who are having trouble grasping challenging concepts. I enjoy seeing students overcome their challenges, especially in regards to dealing with test anxiety. In addition to traditional study methods, I sometimes teach students with test anxiety relaxation, visualization, and breathing techniques to help them during tests. I work to make difficult concepts easier for my students to understand. I strive to be compassionate and patient with my students. My hobbies include camping and hiking, traveling, learning new languages, and dancing. In addition to being an educational researcher and tutor, I am also a certified childbirth doula.
